TRAINING & AWARENESS
- Establishing and maintaining links with multi-disciplinary agencies to ensure client’s needs are met.
- Staying in close contact with educational establishments to provide them with information and updates on service users when needed so that teachers can have a better understanding of SC conditions and thus be in a position to make reasonable adjustments for students .e.g. extending essay deadlines. If not addressed through liaison with teachers, SC can often lead to lowered academic performance and/or student behavioural problems.
ADVOCACY
Help with housing, benefits, medical appointments, benefit tribunal appeal hearing preparation and help to resolve other social care problems affecting sicklers.
