Plan a Fundraising Event for the Sickle Cell Care Centre

Corporates, Community Organisations, Small and Medium Sized businesses and individuals who wish to make a positive difference in the lives of those with Sickle Cell Syndromes, often support us by holding or attending fundraising events on our behalf.

These events take all shapes and sizes, and have included formal dinner and dance parties, sports events, sponsored walks, fire walks, bunjee jumps, bike rides, fashion shows, gallery openings, auctions, marathons, and many others.

We are always impressed by the passion, creativity and ingenuity displayed by these motivated organisers. Over the years, these fundraisers have generated the additional donations that have been essential to continue supporting our centre members needs through; holistic care services, outreach programmes, social events, day trips, after school clubs, carer relief and the ongoing maintenance of the centre.

If you are interested in planning a fundraiser for us — personally, or on behalf of your company or other organisation — let us know by emailing us. In your email, we ask that you:

Share with us your reason for hosting or organising a fundraiser to benefit the Sickle Cell Care Centre. For example, some people raise money for SCC because they have recently lost a loved one to Sickle Cell Disease, others wish to honor a friend's or colleague's daily courage in coping with the pain and fear of SCD.
Describe the type of event you plan to host, such as an auction, tournament, dance, etc. If you are proposing a corporate event, please describe the nature of your business or organisation.
Tell us the proposed date and location of the event.
Let us know how you plan to advertise the event, whom you intend to invite, and how many attendees you expect.
Explain how the contributions will be accounted for, including the percentage that will be given to the Sickle Cell Centre.
Provide your contact information, including telephone, mailing address and email, so that we can get in touch with you.

We are happy to provide you with SCC informational leaflets and other promotional materials that you may wish to distribute at your event. If you wish to use our logo on any advertisement or announcement about the event, please let us know about it. We are able to provide this to you for conditional use.
